Curriculum Facts

  • Fellowship Program 1200 hours over a maximum of 5 years, averaging 36 months

  • 189 hours of in person and online NAIOMT core advanced 700-level OMPT education courses

  • 63 hours of online interactive case management training

  • Approx. 105 hours of project development and directed technique practice

  • 150 hours of direct 1:1 clinical mentoring: in person and distance mentoring and tutorials with a NAIOMT-approved clinical fellowship instructor, credentialed in OMPT (FAAOMPT or equivalent)

  • Faculty availability & mentoring during 700 hours of clinical practice

Admission Requirements

  • Physical therapist licensed to practice in the United States

  • 2000 hours of orthopedic physical therapy clinical experience.

  • Existing OMPT certification OR demonstrated substantial progress towards, OR graduation from an ABTRFE approved residency program.

Program Cost

  • The NAIOMT Fellowship is a “pay as you go,” program, averaging approximately $9,000
  • Costs do not include travel-related expenses nor APTA and AAOMPT membership fees
  • Mentoring costs vary and should be considered when comparing different programs
