C-446 Integration of the Upper Quadrant for OT's

An Integrated model of the upper quadrant including the head/neck unit cervical and thoracic spine as it relates to upper quadrant dysfunction is emphasized. This course also builds on the theory of segmental dysfunction and neutral zone instability as it relates to the upper quadrant. Treatment principles using muscle energy, soft tissue treatment and grade I cervical traction to address the myoarticular function of the cervical and upper thoracic spine. In addition manually assisted muscle re-education for intrinsic muscles of the cervical spine and exercises to achieve postural balance is taught at this level.

Jason Winburne

Jason completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in 1997. He received his Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2000. He obtained his OCS in 2005 and was re-certified in 2015. He completed his fellowship in manual therapy through NAIOMT and was accepted as a Fellow by the AAOMPT in 2008. Jason serves as a guest lecturer for orthopedic courses and a clinical instructor for both the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Texas Women’s University Physical Therapy programs. He is on faculty as a Faculty Instructor and Clinical Fellowship Instructor with NAIOMT. He is a partner in three physical therapy clinics in the Dallas area. Jason specializes in manual therapy and sports/spine orthopedic rehabilitation. He lives in Dallas with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys golfing, traveling, and watching his favorite sports teams.
