The NAIOMT Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program is a planned, part- time and flexible, clinically-based program. The program was established in 1993 to bring faculty and post-professional physical therapists together in a clinical setting for advanced training. |

- A part-time eclectic program to enhance your safe, efficient and effective advanced clinical reasoning and management of complex musculo-skeletal dysfunctions
- Credentialed and approved in the US
- US and Canadian faculty with FAAOMPT and FCAMT credentials
- Program core is 130 hours of direct clinical supervision with highly experienced faculty
- Graduate credits towards postprofessional doctoral degrees

| Application Process |
- There is a formal application process and the intake periods are flexible (rolling)
- Typically, entrance into the program is following two years of postprofessional orthopaedic PT clinical experience
- Previously obtained didactic and clinical hours in related sciences, orthopaedic and manual physical therapy may be eligible for transfer into the program
- Acceptance is dependent on student qualifications, their learning plan and availability of faculty

| Curriculum |
- Efficient scanning examinations, precise biomechanical joint assessment, quadrant analysis, advanced clinical reasoning and eclectic techniques including all grades of joint mobilization/manipulation to all areas of the axial and appendicular skeleton
- Curriculum is anchored in clinical experience and is continuously evolving to integrate expanding scientific, theoretical and clinical knowledge and evidence

| Locations |
- NAIOMT has multiple clinical sites, which may be at the clinical fellowship instructor’s place of employment, or the instructor may travel to the student’s location. They may also meet for clinical supervision at an independent site.
- Classroom hours are obtained at the “weekend” courses offered at many US locations.

| Student Responsibility |
- Student should be self-directed and also take responsibility for the pacing and scheduling of classes, examinations and clinical weeks
|

| Timeline |
- The student with the Clinical Fellowship Instructor plan a personal timeline of their progression through the requirements for graduation within the twelve to thirty-six months of the fellowship program
- The graduation requirements include didactic and practical instruction in OMPT, examinations, clinically supervised hours and a fellowship project
- The student can design the program to minimize travel and time away from home and work
